ATJustice

How the ATJustice process works

Estate planning with ATJustice combines a guided digital intake with review by a licensed attorney — designed to be faster and more affordable than a traditional law office visit, without skipping the parts that need a real lawyer's judgment. Here's what to expect, start to finish.

Before you begin

We recommend reviewing our Checklist first. Having the right information on hand — your assets, your family situation, your wishes for guardianship if applicable — means the guided conversation typically takes about 10 minutes.

Step 1: Guided intake

You'll walk through a guided conversation about your family, your assets, and what you want your estate plan to accomplish. Based on your answers, you'll land in one of three paths:

Fixed-price attorney with AI-guided planning

Your situation fits ATJustice's standard $650 estate plan for individuals and $850 estate plan for couples.

Additional attorney consultation

You have one or more complicating factors. Depending on how they're resolved, you may still qualify for the lowest-priced plan, or you can receive an estimate for additional discounted consultation that is recommended.

Additional attorney design

Your situation is complex enough to be built by an attorney directly, but assisted by ATJustice's automated process to still get you discounted pricing.

A quick note on eligibility: your outcome here is a preliminary read, not a final answer. Your attorney will confirm your actual eligibility once they've reviewed your details and spoken with you.

Step 2: What happens next depends on your path

If you're fixed-price eligible

You can finish the guided conversation, supplying the remaining details needed to create your estate plan. You'll then receive a link to schedule your attorney consultation, sign an engagement letter, and provide payment details. You won't be charged until after your consultation, in case anything changes once you talk it through with your attorney.

Your attorney meets with you directly — this part happens outside the ATJustice platform and can be online or in person based on your preference. During that meeting your attorney will confirm your information, answer your questions, and make any needed adjustments. Once you're aligned, your attorney generates your documents and shares a secure download link with you, typically within about a week of your meeting.

If your situation needs additional attorney consultation services

This outcome provides the option for a free discovery conversation with an estates and trust attorney to talk through your specific complications. So at this point, you can continue the guided conversation (your situation might still qualify for automated document generation), pause and speak with your attorney first, or stop here at no cost.

If you choose to pause and meet with the attorney, depending on what's discussed, your attorney will let you know whether you still qualify for the fixed-price plan or need additional paid consultation, and what that would cost. If you and your attorney together decide automated document generation will work for your situation, your attorney can send you back to complete the guided conversation.

Once you're ready to move forward, you'll follow the same scheduling, engagement letter, and payment steps as above — including any additional consultation you've agreed to. Your documents are generated the same way, either through ATJustice's automated process or directly by your attorney, and shared with you via a secure download link.

If your situation merits additional attorney design services

You can still get a substantial discount on costs, even if your estate plan is complex enough to require additional attorney time and attention. You can schedule a free consultation with an estates and trusts attorney to discuss the details, including projected costs. You can then decide whether you wish to proceed.

A note on cost

You're never charged before you've had a conversation with your attorney and understand your actual price. If you decide not to move forward at any point before that, there's no cost to you.
